Lise really knows her stuff! My daughter was very resistant to working with a tutor, but she loved going to Lise for reading tutoring. Even though she had an IEP at school, she was still struggling and not making much progress in reading and writing. After working with Lise her writing and spelling improved, and her teacher considered her “on grade level” in reading at the end of the school year. I would highly recommend Lise to anyone who is looking for help for their child in reading.  – A.M.

When I first took my son to Lise for tutoring he didn’t like reading and would never choose to read on his own. I had been told by his teacher that he needed extra help with reading. After six months of tutoring from Lise he was reading on grade level! The best part is he was no longer frustrated in school, and now he tells me he likes reading. – S.P.

When my daughter was in second grade, we had the opportunity to work with an excellent reading tutor. Lise Narath has taught reading for many years- as a classroom teacher, reading coach, and as a private consultant. Lise is well qualified to support students with dyslexia or those who learn differently. She is trained in both Orton-Gillingham (multisensory word work) and Lindamood Bell. But most importantly, both my daughter and I found her a delight to work with. She is extremely skilled in all aspects of learning to read, kind, patient, and fun. She really does love to teach reading! – L.P.  (originally posted on the Berkeley Parents Network)

My son was reading two years below grade level when he started going to Lise for reading lessons. I noticed an improvement right away in both his reading and his attitude towards reading. His reading has improved so much that he no longer needs tutoring. Lise’s expertise and encouragement made all the difference for him. I’m glad we found her when we did! – R.A.
